Memorial Day Closures, Hours, and Impacts

In observance of Memorial Day, Town offices will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025.  Construction work or landscaping will not be allowed. Certain Town recreation facilities will be open, and the public beaches will have lifeguards on duty from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.

Mandel Recreation Center

Residential Garbage Service 

  • There will only be residential garbage pickup service for residents on Kawama Lane/Chateaux Drive north to East Inlet Drive. No other residential areas on the island will be serviced for garbage on Monday, May 26, 2025. 

Commercial Garbage Service 

  • Service as usual 

Commercial Recycling Service 

  • Service as usual 

Yard Trash Collection 

  • There will be no service on Monday, May 26, 2025. Stash areas will be serviced during residential collection starting Tuesday, May 27, 2025, through Friday, May 30, 2025. 

Parking 

  • There is no exception to parking for the Memorial Day Holiday. Parking will be enforced as usual. 

**NO CONSTRUCTION OR LANDSCAPING WORK WILL BE PERMITTED ON THIS HOLIDAY**
