Town Council to Appoint Members to the Landmarks Preservation Commission
The Town of Palm Beach seeks to appoint members to the Landmarks Preservation Commission. All citizens interested in pursuing an appointment must complete the appropriate application for service and submit it to the Town Clerk’s Office by Friday, January 31, 2025, at 5:00 pm. The appointments will be on the agenda for consideration and potential action at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The term will take effect in March 2025.
The Town seeks to appoint three (3) regular and one (1) alternate members to the Landmarks Preservation Commission. One regular member position is currently filled by a non-resident expert. The terms will begin on March 1, 2025 and expire on March 1, 2028; One (1) member and one (1) non-resident expert are eligible for reappointment.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission reviews and approves structural and landscape modifications to designated structures and properties. Members are appointed by the Town Council based on having, to the greatest extent practicable, a special knowledge of and a known interest in landmarks preservation. Members of the Landmarks Preservation Commission shall be appointed for a three-year term and may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
