The Palm Beach Police Department wants to remind residents that scam attempts increase during the holiday season. Scammers are constantly coming up with new ways to steal your money, but common scams include:

• Gift Card Scams
• Family Emergency Scams
• Charity Scams
• Lottery or Prize Scams
• Warrant Scams
• QR Code and Package Scams

Remember that no legitimate organization will ask to be paid with gift cards over the phone or online. If it seems odd, suspicious, or too good to be true, it probably is. We encourage you to discuss scams and scam safety with any friends or family, especially those you feel may be at higher risk of being successfully targeted.
