Carbondale Police Press Release: Auto Burglary Arrests

CARBONDALE – On March 11, 2025 at 6:10 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 300 block of South University Avenue where a vehicle was reportedly burglarized. During the investigation, officers located and arrested the two suspects identified as two 16-year-old juvenile males from Carbondale. After consulting with the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, the juveniles were incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing. In accordance with the Illinois Juvenile Justice Act, the identities of the juvenile suspects are not being released. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department at the numbers listed below. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
