CARBONDALE - The City of Carbondale is proud to announce a partnership between Mayor Harvey and IDHS-Serve Illinois to support residents affected by the 2025 Southern Illinois Winter Storm Blaire. This initiative, in collaboration with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and Illinois Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), hosts volunteers to assist in recovery efforts across Southern Illinois, including Saline, Jackson, and Williamson Counties.
The recent ice storm caused widespread damage, leaving many residents in need of support to clear tree limbs and restore safety to their properties. If you need assistance and support, please complete the Resident Sign Up-2025 Southern Illinois Winter Storm Blaire form to indicate this request. If you seek assistance in filling out the form and would like to connect with a City Staff member, please call 618-457-3275 for guidance. Note this program is running from Friday, January 24, 2025, through Friday, February 7, 2025.
Volunteers are essential to this effort, and the call is open to individuals aged 18 and older who are ready to make a difference.
