Carbondale Police Press Release - Armed Robbery

CARBONDALE – On January 12, 2025, at 8:20 pm, City of Carbondale police officers met with an individual who reported that they had been robbed at gunpoint. Officers learned the victim was delivering food in the 2300 block of South Illinois Avenue when the suspect approached and eventually displayed a firearm. The suspect demanded the victim’s money and then ordered the victim to leave. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5'07''tall, wearing a black jacket with an Adidas logo and dark jeans. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at the numbers listed below. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
