FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CITY OF CASA GRANDE RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED BUDGET PRESENTATION AWARD.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States (GFOA) has awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the City of Casa Grande. The award represents a significant achievement by the city that reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

To receive the budget award, the city had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well the budget serves as:
 

• A policy document

• A financial plan

• An operations guide

• A communications device

To receive the award, budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories and meet the 14 mandatory criteria. Additionally, the city's budget received special recognition for "Strategic Goals & Strategies," awarded when all three reviewers give the highest possible score in specific categories.

"We, as the City Council, take immense pride in the outstanding work our dedicated staff consistently delivers for the City of Casa Grande” said Mayor Craig McFarland. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work of all our departments, especially to our Finance Department for their exceptional contributions. Their commitment to excellence has been instrumental in ensuring the financial stability and growth of our city.”
