Construction Notice: 2nd Avenue - 101st to 104th Street

Sidewalk & Curb Replacement Project – South Lansingburgh Neighborhood
Temporary "No Parking" Restrictions on 2nd Avenue

Where:
2nd Avenue, from 101st Street to 104th Street, South Lansingburgh


When:
Construction resumes Thursday, April 18, 2025, and will continue through Fall 2025. Estimated completion date is September 30, 2025.


What to Expect:
As part of the City of Troy’s ongoing neighborhood reinvestment efforts, the Department of Housing & Community Development has restarted the Sidewalk and Curb Replacement Project along 2nd Avenue in the South Lansingburgh neighborhood.


Parking Restrictions:
  • No Parking – 6:00am to 6:00pm” signs will be posted on both sides of 2nd Avenue between 101st and 104th Streets.
  • Restrictions are necessary to accommodate active construction and maintain two-way traffic flow.

Construction Details:
  • Work begins on the east side of 2nd Avenue at 101st Street and will progress north toward 104th Street.
  • Upon completion of the east side, crews will transition to the west side of the avenue.
  • Scope of work includes:
    • Sidewalk and curb removal and replacement
    • Installation of utility strips
    • Lawn restoration
    • General improvements to pedestrian accessibility

Why It Matters:
This project is funded through the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and aims to enhance mobility and quality of life for families and residents in the South Lansingburgh neighborhood. It builds upon recent sidewalk and curb upgrades completed along 5th Avenue (101st to 104th Streets).


Safety:
Motorists traveling through the area are urged to reduce speeds, observe all posted traffic signs, and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
