Dan Jones Road Widening Project Updates - March 5th. 2024

Phase 1 Update:
Our contractor roadwork team will be back to lay down the new asphalt and paint those critical road lines just as soon as the places that make asphalt are open and it’s warm enough outside. They think it’ll take about 3 weeks to get it all done. And guess what? They’re planning everything so carefully that there won’t be any big road closures before 9:00 AM or after 2:00 PM on school days. This means less hassle for you during your daily routines!

Phase 2 Update:
First up, Citizens Gas has finished moving their gas main on the east side of Dan Jones, making way for safer and more efficient services. Over on the west side, Duke Electric has successfully relocated their poles and overhead electric lines. This means that Spectrum, AT&T, and other services attached to these poles will be moving to their new spots soon. Also, on the west side, we've laid down the new water main from Oriole Point to just north of Westwind Dr. We're aiming to wrap this up in the next two weeks, so stay tuned! In the digital realm, new underground fiber optic lines are set to be threaded through the new conduits within the next month. This is a big step toward keeping Avon connected and fast. Last but not least, our road contractors are gearing up to start smoothing out the ground and installing storm sewers in the area within the next month.
