🚧 Avon Avenue Improvement Project Begins October 6, 2025 🚧

Starting Monday, October 6, 2025, crews will begin roadway improvements along Avon Avenue. Work will take place in three phases to help keep traffic moving safely throughout construction.

👷‍♂️ What to Expect

Phase 1: Southbound traffic from Rockville Road (US 36) will use the inside lane while crews widen the west side of Avon Avenue.
Phase 2: Once widening is complete, southbound traffic will shift to the newly paved area and northbound traffic will move to the outside lane. Crews will then build a new concrete center island.
Phase 3: The final phase will include milling, resurfacing, and finishing work to complete the project.

🗓️ Tentative Schedule

Dates may shift depending on weather and construction progress.

• Phase 1: October 6–23, 2025 – Excavation, paving, and sidewalk work on the west side. Traffic shift expected around October 23, 2025.

• Phase 2: October 24–30, 2025 – Construction of the new concrete center island.

• Phase 3: October 31–November 4, 2025 – Final milling, paving, and finishing touches.
