Search warrant leads to illegal firearm arrest

On 6/11/2025 at approximately 2:00 PM Detectives from the SRPD Gang Crimes Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2700 block of Aztec Street.  The investigation was in relation to a recent shooting.  With assistance from Detectives in the Property Crimes and Narcotics units, the search warrant was served, and several residents were detained.  A search of the residence located several firearms, a small amount of dangerous drugs, and drug paraphernalia.  One of the firearms located was an unregistered, short-barreled rifle.  A Mac-10 pistol was also located inside the residence.  These firearms are classified as illegal assault weapons. Upon Police arrival, one of the residents had been observed attempting to conceal the short barreled rifle under a shed in the backyard.  A forty round magazine was located, appearing to have been thrown into a neighbor’s yard over the back fence.  The suspect who attempted to conceal the rifle under the shed was identified as Jesus Pacheco (Santa Rosa resident, 43 years old).  Pacheco was arrested per 33215 PC Poss Short Barreled Rifle and 30605(A)PC Possession Assault Rifle.  Pacheco was booked at the Sonoma County Jail.
