**CASE UPDATE**
Suspect in Santa Rosa bank robbery arrested by SCSO following bank robbery in Windsor
On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 3:56 pm, an unidentified man entered the Chase Bank located at 2245 Mendocino Avenue and presented a note to a bank teller, demanding cash. No weapon was threatened or brandished. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) Violent Crimes Team (VCI) responded to the bank and took over the robbery investigation.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, SRPD VCI detectives were contacted by detectives with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Violent Crimes Unit (VCI) and were made aware of a similar robbery that had just occurred in their jurisdiction. At approximately 10:37 am, the Wells Fargo Bank located at 8848 Lakewood Drive, Windsor, was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash by a suspect matching the description of the suspect responsible for the Santa Rosa bank robbery earlier in the month.
SCSO VCI detectives assumed the investigation and were able to identify the suspect as Derrick Lamm, a 39-year-old Windsor resident. Detectives were able to locate and arrest Lamm later the same day and serve a search warrant for his apartment and vehicle. Located in Lamm’s apartment and vehicle was evidence connecting him to both robberies. In addition to being booked into Sonoma County jail for the Windsor bank robbery, SRPD VCI detectives added an additional charge of 211 PC, robbery, for the April 11th robbery of Chase Bank on Mendocino Avenue.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office for their incredibly thorough investigation which led to a quick resolution to these cases, and for their continued partnership.
