SRPD News Release: Suspect in SRPD case is located hiding on a roof by Henry-1 after fleeing from a stolen car
Suspect in SRPD case is located hiding on a roof by Henry-1 after fleeing from a stolen car
On Thursday, February 20, 2025, at approximately 8:05 pm, officers with the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) Special Enforcement Team (SET) were patrolling in the 1000 block of W. College Avenue when they spotted a gold Toyota Camry that was similar to one that had recently been reported stolen. As the vehicle drove past the officers, one of the officers recognized the driver, Bradley Justis, who the officer knew from previous investigations and knew Justis was on active Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and had two active felony warrants for his arrest.
The officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, Justis immediately accelerated in an attempt to evade the officers. The SET officers pursued Justis at a safe distance, then discontinued the pursuit out of concern for public safety when Justis entered a densely populated area in the 2600 block of Westberry Drive.
Area residents began advising the officers Justis had been seen running south through the condominium complex and possibly climbed onto the roof from a second-floor landing. A perimeter was established and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) helicopter, “Henry-1,” flew to the scene to assist in our search for Justis.
The Henry-1 crew located Justis hiding on the roof of a condo and maintained communications with SRPD officers on the ground. After brief negotiations with Justis, he eventually climbed down onto a second-floor landing and peacefully surrendered to officers. Santa Rosa Fire Department (SRFD) Truck Company 2 positioned their ladder near the roofline, allowing an officer to climb onto the roof to search the area where Justis was hiding. The officer located two cell phones and a methamphetamine pipe on the roof where Justis was hiding.
Bradley Justis, a 40-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, was booked into Sonoma County Jail for his outstanding warrants and the following offenses:
10851(a) VC - Vehicle theft
666.5(a) VC - Vehicle theft with priors
496d(a) VC - Possession of a stolen vehicle
2800.2(a) VC - Felony evading
11364(a) HS - Possession of narcotics paraphernalia
148(a)(1) PC - Obstruction of a peace officer
Thank you to the SCSO and the SRFD for helping us resolve this incident peacefully.
Santa Rosa Police Department case number 25-1850.
