SRPD seeks community’s help in identifying a man suspected of attempted sexual assault
The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) was recently made aware of an attempted sexual assault of a female while she was walking in the area of Marlow Road and Jennings Avenue. The incident occurred on Monday, January 6, 2025, at approximately 1:00 am. Around that time, an unknown male subject began following a woman walking west on Jennings Avenue between Ridley Avenue and Marlow Road. The man suddenly appeared behind her and attempted to engage the woman in a conversation. She refused to engage, but the man continued to follow her.
As she approached the intersection of Jennings Avenue and Marlow Road, the man grabbed her from behind and pulled her into nearby bushes. He attempted to make sexual advances on her, but she was able to fight him off and run away.
The man is described as an adult male in his 30s, approximately 5-foot 7-inches in height. Detectives are attempting to locate witnesses and video evidence that may assist in providing the public with a more complete description.
The SRPD Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Team (DVSA) is actively investigating this incident and is encouraging anyone with information about this incident, including video or audio recordings related to this incident, to call the SRPD DVSA tip line at 707-543-3595.
