San Francisco Man Arrested for Illegally Possessing a Firearm
On Thursday November 11th, 2024, at about 5:08 pm, a Santa Rosa Police Officer saw a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Santa Rosa Ave. A check of the vehicle’s license plate revealed both the front and rear license plates had been reported stolen. The occupant and owner of the vehicle was detained for further investigation. During the investigation, officers found a loaded 45-caliber Desert Eagle semi-automatic handgun inside of the vehicle. Additionally, officers located a useable amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Officers arrested the owner/occupant of the vehicle who was identified as 39-year-old San Francisco resident, Michael James Coe. Coe was arrested for violation of Penal Code 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Penal Code 25400(A)(1) – Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle, Penal Code 25850(A) – Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place, Health & Safety Code 11370.1(A) – Possession of a Controlled Substance with a Firearm, Penal Code 30305(A) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition and Penal Code 496(A) - Possession of Stolen Property. Coe was booked into the Sonoma County Correctional Facility.
