Subject arrested for concealed firearm and D.U.I.
On December 21, 2023 at about 9:20 A.M, two SRPD Command Staff officers were conducting foot patrol in the downtown area. As they were walking on Mendocino Ave near Fourth Street, they observed a vehicle travelling in the same area in an unsafe manner with the driver committing several vehicle code violations. They observed the vehicle park a short distance away and immediately contacted the sole occupant, identified as 32-year-old Cloverdale resident, Ramses De Jesus Navarette.The officers immediately observed signs and symptoms of alcohol use and had Navarrette exit the vehicle where he participated in field sobriety tests. Navarrette was ultimately arrested for 23152(a)-DUI. A search of the jacket that he removed prior to exiting the vehicle, revealed concealed unloaded Glock handgun.
Navarrette was booked at the Sonoma County Jail for the following charges:
VC 23152(a) Driving under the Influence
PC 25400 (a) (1)-Possession of a concealed firearm
