**UPDATE** - Missing man has returned home

Byron Montgomery returned home early this morning, safe and sound. Thank you to the community for spreading the word!

**ORIGINAL RELEASE**

The Santa Rosa Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating a missing elderly man. Byron Montgomery, a 71-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was last seen leaving his home on the 600-block of Grandberg Court yesterday morning on a motorized mobility scooter. 

Montgomery left the residence at approximately 9:30 am on Sunday, 11/5/23, in an unknown direction of travel once he exited the court. Grandberg Court is located in the Roseland area off West Avenue. Montgomery is 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighs approximately 115 pounds, and has gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing the same clothes as in the attached photos. The mobility scooter he is riding, a black "Pride" scooter with an attached basket, is also pictured.

If you see Byron Montgomery, or know of his whereabouts, please contact the Santa Rosa Police Department non-emergency line at 707-528-5222, so an officer can check his welfare. We do not believe he is missing under suspicious circumstances or has any significant medical issues.
