Search Warrant Leads to Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale and Weapons Violations
In January 2023, detectives from the SRPD Narcotics Team began an investigation into a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) that was distributing large amounts of methamphetamine in Santa Rosa and its surrounding areas. This particular DTO has been investigated by the SRPD Narcotics Team at least 4 times dating back to 2016. During those investigations, several arrests were made, and several pounds of suspected methamphetamine were seized.
On 11/7/23, at approximately 1135 hours, detectives from the SRPD Narcotics Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, pursuant to a search warrant, in the 400 block of Sebastopol Rd in Santa Rosa. The occupant was detained, and his person and vehicle were searched pursuant to a search warrant. Approximately three kilograms (6.6 pounds) of suspected methamphetamine was located in his vehicle. The driver, and sole occupant, was identified as 25-year-old Modesto resident, Baltazar Gonzalez-Jimenez.
Detectives then responded to the 6200 block of Montecito Bl in Santa Rosa and executed the service of a search warrant at a residence. Detectives located approximately two kilograms (4.4 pounds) of suspected methamphetamine, clean packaging materials, and digital scales in the suspect’s bedroom closet. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Santa Rosa resident, Kenin Tobar y Tobar, was not at the residence when the search warrant was served. A complaint will be forwarded to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office requesting the following charges be filed against him:
