Red Flag Warning Issued for Santa Rosa

A Red Flag Warning goes into effect for the Upper Elevations of Eastern Sonoma County starting Saturday, Oct. 28 at 5 a.m. The red flag warning extends into the remainder of Sonoma County, including ALL of Santa Rosa, starting Saturday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. The Red Flag Warnings will end locally on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. for the upper and lower elevations of Sonoma County.

WINDS:
Lower Elevations - North 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Upper Elevation - North 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. The highest ridgetops and peaks may see gusts up to 60 mph.

RELATIVE HUMIDITY:
Minimum relative humidity is expected to be as low as 15 to 35 percent on Saturday and Sunday. Poor relative humidity recoveries overnight in the 20 to 45 percent range for the interior valleys. Moderate humidity recoveries of 55 to 75 percent for the coastal regions.

IMPACTS:
The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity.
