On 8/25/23 at approximately 1:00 AM, Santa Rosa Police Officers responded to a domestic disturbance report in the 3300 block of Mojave Avenue. It was reported a male subject later identified as twenty-one-year old Rohnert Park resident Salvador Contreras threatened his ex-girlfriend with a firearm. Contreras left the area in a black single cab truck after the altercation. While enroute to the call, a Santa Rosa Police Officer observed a black single cab truck pulling over in the area of Bellevue Avenue and Corby Avenue. The Officer contacted the driver Contreras, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. Contreras refused to listen to the Officers commands and began walking away from his vehicle. Two additional Santa Rosa Police Officers were able to contact and detain Contreras while his attention was focused on the initial Officer giving commands. During follow up investigation, a loaded 9-millimeter glock pistol was located behind the passenger front seat of the vehicle. The firearm was loaded with seven rounds. The firearm was determined to be stolen out of Vallejo.
