Water Leak Repair Update (Northeast Creek Customers)

The leak has been repaired in the water main break impacting the Louisa County Water Authority’s Northeast Creek system. Water storage in the system currently remains low, however, staff is making gains in the system and will continue to work on reestablishing storage throughout the night. Homes and businesses may experience varying pressures until the storage levels return to normal.

Users may experience air in their lines and should “slow the flow” to let the air out. If users experience discoloration due to sediments, they should run cold water until it clears.

Water Conservation
While the Louisa County Water Authority staff transitions to filling the system, water conservation is highly encouraged and appreciated. Reduced water consumption during this period will help expediate the time needed for levels and pressure to normalize.

Continue to Boil
The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until testing is complete to confirm water is safe to drink.

Checking for Updates
The Louisa County Water Authority, Louisa County, the Town of Louisa, and the Town of Mineral will release updates as they are available. Note the Town of Louisa and the Town of Mineral rely on the Louisa County Water Authority’s Northeast Creek Water Treatment Plant, but they operate separate systems. As they operate separate systems, the towns may issue their own communications. Please follow the Louisa County Water Authority as well as the town in which you reside for the most complete information.
