Louisa County

Boil Water Advisory Issued Along Davis Highway, Jefferson Highway, and the Towns of Louisa and Mineral

Background

The Louisa County Water Authority (LCWA) Northeast Creek system experienced a water main break early in the morning of 5/14/25. The situation caused a loss of water pressure, impacting customers along Davis Highway, Jefferson Highway, and the Towns of Louisa and Mineral.

Boil Water Advisory and Water Pressure Loss

A Boil Water Advisory is now in effect for all LCWA Northeast Creek customers. This includes homes and businesses along Davis Highway, Jefferson Highway, and the Towns of Louisa and Mineral. State law requires Boil Water Advisories in these situations to ensure that water is suitable for consumption.

Customers should expect to temporarily lose water pressure before the system is able to refill and recover.

Timeline

Repairs are underway. The restoration timeline and length of the Boil Water Advisory is unknown at this time. However, testing to ensure water safety requires a minimum of 48-72 hours. The public will be notified when the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.
