MEMA ALERT: Flood Advisory In Effect For Maui Island Until 6 PM HST This Evening

MEMA Alert...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE
ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 249 PM HST, radar indicated areas of moderate to heavy
showers developing over the interior of the island. Rain was
falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, with the
heaviest showers over the slopes of Haleakala. Additional
areas of heavy rain is possible through this evening.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
This advisory includes the entire island of Maui.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
