Important Updates on Water Shut Offs and Traffic Operations for McKnight Watermain Project
- Wednesday 5/3 along 16th Ave (shown in PURPLE below) between 9 am and 5 pm.
- Thursday 5/4 along 17th Ave EA ST (shown in PINK below) between 9 am and 5 pm.
- 12th Ave – Open.
- 13th Ave – Currently closed. Scheduled to open ASAP.
- 14th Ave – Currently closed. Scheduled to open ASAP.
- 15th Ave East – Currently closed. Scheduled to open ASAP.
- 15th Ave West – Open.
- 16th Ave – Currently closed. Scheduled to open ASAP.
Watermain Update:
The contractor is scheduled to install the hydrant on 14th Ave today (5/2). They are also planning to connect to the watermain in the intersection of McKnight Rd and 11th Ave today (5/2). They will be connecting the watermain at 16th and starting on 17th, east of McKnight later this week.There will be temporary water shut offs this week, which are necessary to connect residents to the new watermain. These shut offs will occur between 9 am and 5 pm for the following areas. Please note the information provided by these maps below are based on our best available knowledge.
This shut off should occur during off peak hours to ideally impact the least amount of persons possible. If you are planning to utilize water in the time period when the shutoff is scheduled to occur, it is recommended that you have a pitcher of water stored in the fridge prior to the shut down.
Your sewer will still work since it is gravity operated. However; the water that your toilet bowl uses to flush will not work. It’s recommended that you fill your tub with water and have a small bucket next to the tub. When you need to flush, simply fill the bucket with water and pour it in to the toilet.

Traffic Operations Update:
The bus stop for 11th Ave westbound traffic is scheduled to be OPEN tomorrow morning (5/3). There is a chance the right turn lane for 11th Ave westbound traffic could open towards the end of this week, else it would open next week.While they are working at the intersection of McKnight and 17th Avenue, there are not planned to be any closures at this time.
The closures shown in RED in the map below and are planned to occur for TWO WEEKS from the closure start date. Residents on the easterly side of McKnight will still be able to access their homes from 3rd Street as illustrated by the bright BLUE boxes. Based on the current schedule and information, the following closures are scheduled:
