McKnight Water Shut-Off Updates

Watermain update:
The contractor is scheduled to prep the holes for watermain replacement on 14th Ave to 15th Ave tomorrow. This means the contractor will need to perform temporary water shut-offs, which is necessary to connect residents to the new watermain.  These shut-offs will occur between 9 am and 5 pm for the following areas.  Please note the information provided by these maps below are based on our best available knowledge.  
  • Tuesday 4/25 along 14th Ave (shown in PURPLE below) and
  • 15th Ave (shown in PINK below) between 9 am and 5 pm. 

This shut-off should occur during off-peak hours to ideally impact the least amount of persons possible. If you are planning to utilize water in the time period when the shutoff is scheduled to occur, it is recommended that you have a pitcher of water stored in the fridge prior to the shutdown.

Your sewer will still work since it is gravity operated. However; the water that your toilet bowl uses to flush will not work. It’s recommended that you fill your tub with water and have a small bucket next to the tub. When you need to flush, simply fill the bucket with water and pour it into the toilet.

All of the contractor’s work is dependent on the weather and the schedule may change.

Traffic operations update:

There will be work occurring in the northeast quadrant of the intersection of 11th Ave and McKnight Rd, as shown by the PINK circle below. Both westbound and eastbound traffic will still be permitted while this work is occurring, but there will be cones to shift the lanes slightly. Please drive slow and watch for construction workers.

The closures shown in RED in the map below and are planned to occur for TWO WEEKS from the closure start date. Residents on the easterly side of McKnight will still be able to access their homes from 3rd Street as illustrated by the bright BLUE boxes. Based on the current schedule and information, the following closures are scheduled:

  • 12th Ave – Currently closed. Scheduled to open first week in May.
  • 13th Ave – Currently closed. Scheduled to open first week in May.
  • 14th Ave – Scheduled to close tomorrow (4/25).
  • 15th Ave – Scheduled to close tomorrow (4/25).
