FOUNDERS DAY CEREMONY TO FEATURE COMMUNITY THEATRE PERFORMANCE THIS SUNDAY!

(Kirksville, MO) - If you enjoy local history AND local theatre, then don’t miss the City of Kirksville’s annual Founders Day Ceremony this Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm in Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery! Curtain Call Theatre Company – Kirksville’s local community theatre – will be performing a Civil War sketch as part of the event. Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery is located at 201 N. Centennial St., at the western end of West Harrison Street.

As an additional part of the ceremony, the City will be unveiling a new gravestone for Civil War veteran Daniel Bradford Hatch. The public is invited to attend and participate in the event “where the past meets the present!” This event is held in partnership with the City’s Friends of Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery Committee as a part of our ongoing celebration of National Preservation Month.
