KPD recognizes Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week
(Kirksville, MO) - As part of National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week, the Kirksville Police Department is proud to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of our dedicated Animal Control Officer (ACO) Robert Humphrey. Today, we celebrate the compassion and unwavering commitment of ACO Humphrey, who works daily to protect the welfare of both animals and our community.
ACO Humphrey has been with the Kirksville Police Department since June 2015. Animal Control is responsible for the enforcement of animal control ordinances. They investigate complaints of animal abuse, catch stray or loose animals, and pick up injured or deceased animals and transport them to the Adair County Humane Society. ACO Humphrey picks up approximately 300 to 400 animals per year. Animal Control also investigates animal bites and coordinates those reports with the Adair County Health Department.
ACO Humphrey goes above and beyond by frequently ensuring the return of many lost pets to their families, and has provided those in financial need with supplies and education for proper pet care.
The Kirksville Police Department invites members of the community to join us in showing appreciation for the hard work and dedication of ACO Humphrey in protecting and serving our community.
