(Kirksville, MO) - The Kirksville Police Department would like to remind citizens of restrictions on overnight parking in the downtown Central Business District. This affects portions of Franklin, Elson, Main, Washington, Harrison and McPherson streets. There is no parking on these streets’ south and west sides on Mondays between 4:00 am and 6:00 am. There is no parking on these streets’ north and east sides on Tuesdays between 4:00 am and 6:00 am.
These rules allow the City of Kirksville’s Public Works Department to clean downtown streets.
There is often confusion over these parking restrictions because residents may park their vehicles late at night and not take into consideration a parking restriction that takes effect the next morning.
The no parking areas are marked with signage detailing the days and times parking is prohibited. KPD enforces these parking restrictions with the issuance of parking citations. Please take these areas into account when parking in downtown.
