City of Horseshoe Bay Alerts

City HSB advises residents of near-critical Fire Weather conditions over the next few days. Stay alert!

Attn. Residents:
Due to the low humidity, the City of Horseshoe Bay would like to advise that residents to consider the following:
  • No outdoor burning
  • No hot work operations i.e. welding, between 12-8 p.m.
  • Limit yard mowing to the morning hours
  • Properly discard smoking materials
  • Ensure trailer chains are off the ground so as to eliminate sparking fires by the roadways
  • Do not park off the road in dry grass or dry vegetation (to eliminate fires started by catalytic converters.

For preventative measure, the City of Horseshoe Bay is taking the following actions:
  • Contract Mowers stop around 11:00 am (string mowing/weed eating is okay anytime)
  • Both Fire Stations will run with their engine and shadowed by the brush truck to minimize response to any grass, brush, or wildland fire.
  • The South End Task Force will be dispatched on every reported outdoor fire. The South End Task Force is comprised of 5 brush trucks and one or two tenders (water trucks). Each jurisdiction sends a brush truck (HSB, Spicewood, Granite Shoals, Marble Falls Fire, Marble Falls Area VFD).
