Wheaton Police Invite Community to Participate in Town Hall on May 29

As the Wheaton Police Department continues its efforts to build positive relationships within the community, the department will launch a series of community engagement initiatives beginning with a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 303 W. Wesley Street, in the City Council Chambers.

Residents are encouraged to attend and learn about topics including highlights from the 2024 annual report, the department’s technology, modern policing, officer training, the role of social services, and community safety education. The Town Hall will include an interactive presentation by members of the Wheaton Police Department, followed by an opportunity for participants to ask questions.

“Active participation in local events and maintaining open lines of communication have been at the forefront of our community engagement efforts,” said Chief PJ Youker. “We have strengthened our bond with the people we serve. This collaborative approach has not only helped us address community concerns more effectively but has also enabled us to tailor our services to better meet the unique needs of our diverse community.”

For individuals who are unable to attend in person, this event will also be shared live via Zoom, and the City will record the event. The Wheaton Police Department is committed to fostering positive relationships with our community through public education, open communication and community engagement. This Town Hall will serve as the kickoff to the return of Neighborhood Roll Call events, which will be hosted at various Community Unit School District 200 schools this summer. Stay tuned for more information coming soon announcing the dates and locations of these neighborhood events.
