City of Crown Point Weekly Message March 26, 2024

Good evening, this is a message from the City of Crown Point with our weekly update.

This is a friendly reminder East Street from North to Goldsborough streets is closed for road work. The closure is slated to last through April, weather permitting. We appreciate everyone’s patience while work is underway.

Hop into the lower level of the historic Lake County Courthouse for free photos with Ester the Easter Bunny! Photos will be from noon to 4 p.m. this Saturday, March 30. Please bring a camera.

Registration closes next week for the Crown Point Athletics Summer Women’s Fastpitch Softball league. This 18-and-older league has 16 games and a season-ending tournament. To register, call Athletics at 219-661-2271, option 2, or email athletics@crownpoint.in.gov. Sign-ups close Monday, April 1.

Join First United Methodist Church for Bears & Badges at 6 p.m. Friday, April 5, at On the Square Sports Academy. Enjoy an evening with former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim Miller and wide receiver Dennis McKinnon. Tickets are $50 and available by visiting bearsandbadges.net. Proceeds will benefit the Crown Point Fire Department.

All City of Crown Point residents are being asked to complete a Water Service Line Survey. Please attempt to identify your incoming water supply line. If your home was constructed before 1990, it may contain lead. You can conduct a simple visual check where the water line enters your home, usually in the basement where your shut-off valve is. The City requires this information to comply with the Lead and Copper Rule. To fill out the online form, visit www.crownpoint.in.gov. For more information, call Utilities at 219-662-3252, option 4.

The Franciscan Health Foundation is hosting a mobile market in partnership with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 4. The drive-thru market will be held at the Franciscan Health Main Street Outpatient Center, located at 1201 S. Main St. Valid proof of Indiana residency is required. Please do not arrive before 2:30 p.m.

Thank you, stay safe and have a great week!
