!!!ATTENTION!!!

We are issuing a voluntary evacuation of all of Assumption Parish, especially those in low-lying areas, mobile homes, RV’s and/or substandard structures. Residents are urged to ensure their safety as Francine is likely to be a Category 1 hurricane event for our area.

Category 1 Winds 74-95 mph (64-82 kt or 119-153 km/hr). Very dangerous winds will produce some damage: Well-constructed frame homes could have damage to roof, shingles, vinyl siding and gutters. Large branches of trees will snap and shallowly rooted trees may be toppled. Extensive damage to power lines and poles likely will result in power outages that could last a few to several days.

Assumption Parish will open a shelter at 9:00 a.m. on 9/11/2024, for parish residents in need of a safe haven during the storm. The shelter will be at the Assumption Parish Community Center (4910 Hwy. 308, Napoleonville, LA. 70390). Also, remember to bring and prepare the following:

• Drivers License or Identification Card
• Non-perishable food (At least three days' worth)
