Update Regarding High Street Emergency Utility Repair Work in Congress Square

High Street will be closed from York Street to Congress Street TONIGHT, Thursday, September 8 at 6:00 PM through 6:00 AM Friday, September 9 for emergency utility repairs.  We recommend avoiding this area during this time, please seek alternate route if possible.

• Casco Bay Bridge traffic, entering Portland, will be detoured to Park St.
• From Park St: Traffic may traverse Commercial St (left from Park St) to Franklin St to gain access to the east side of Congress St.
• From Park St: Traffic may traverse Commercial St/West Commercial St (right from Park St) to St. John St to access the west side of Congress St. 
• Traffic control personnel will be at the intersections of High St York St, High St at Danforth St, and High St at Pleasant St to allow residents and WCSH access to their facilities.

This overnight work is expected to be the end of the emergency utility work. Contractors will resume their phase one work once the utility repairs are complete.
