ADVISORY - Hawaii DCR Alert - UPDATE - Pre-trial detainee back in custody at O’ahu Community Correctional Center

HONOLULU — Pre-trial misdemeanant Isaac Edayan is back in custody at the O‘ahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) after Honolulu police arrested him in Haleiwa today, April 28, 2024.
Staff at OCCC discovered Edayan, 39, missing at approximately 6 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, during a headcount. The Honolulu Police Department and State Sheriffs were notified.
Honolulu police arrested Edayan in Haleiwa and returned him to custody at OCCC shortly after noon today.
Edayan is a pre-trial misdemeanant charged with operating a vehicle after a license and privilege have been suspended or revoked for operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant.
He now faces a second-degree escape charge. An investigation into his escape is underway.
