.Surf heights are expected to rapidly build along north and west

large northwest swell builds in. Overlapping pulses will keep
surf elevated through Wednesday before subsiding below High Surf
Advisory levels Thursday night into Friday. Additionally, the
Coastal Flood Statement remains in effect through Tuesday morning,
as peak monthly tides coincide with much higher than predicted
ocean levels. Expect minor flooding of low-lying coastal
infrastructure as well as some some beach erosion during peak high
tides through the morning hours again early Tuesday.

feet overnight building to 30 to 40 feet by Tuesday afternoon.

to 26 feet on Tuesday. For west facing shores of the smaller
islands, surf of 15 to 20 feet building to 20 to 30 feet on
Tuesday. For west facing shores of the Big Island, surf building
to 8 to 14 feet on Tuesday. Additionally, a combination of
higher than predicted tides and elevated surf will produce
nuisance coastal flooding, mainly during peak high tides in the
early morning hours between midnight and sunrise.
* WHERE...North and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu,
Molokai, and the Big Island, and north facing shores of Maui.
* WHEN...For the High Surf Warning, until 6 PM HST Wednesday. For
the Coastal Flood Statement, through Tuesday morning at and
around the daily peak tides in the early morning hours between
midnight and sunrise.

currents. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make
navigating the channels dangerous.Flooding of beaches that are
normally dry, minor coastal erosion, and saltwater inundation.
Instructions
Avoid driving through flooded roadways. If you are forced to
drive through salt water, be sure to rinse your vehicle with
fresh water. Move electronics, vehicles or other valuables to
higher ground. Monitor vessels to ensure mooring lines don't get
too tight and watch out for overwash around boat ramps. Secure
canoes or other watercraft stowed on beaches.
Stay away from the shoreline along the affected coasts. Be
prepared for road closures. Postpone entering or leaving channels
affected by the high surf until the surf subsides.
