The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for...
Southwestern Lincoln County in central New Mexico...
Southeastern Socorro County in central New Mexico...

* Until 745 PM MDT.

* At 618 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was located across
Carrizozo and all points southward.

HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility.

SOURCE...Law enforcement and Department of Highways reported.

IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

* Locations impacted include...
Carrizozo, White Oaks and Oscuro.

This includes U.S. Highway 380 and 70 between Mile Markers 44 and 74
and U.S. Highway 54 from Mile Marker 78 to Mile Marker 123. U.S.
Highway 54 is closed from Carrizozo to Tularosa due to brownout
conditions.

Instructions

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.
