Southeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico...
Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...
* Until 530 PM MDT.
* At 240 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was located along U.S. 380
west of Roswell
HAZARD...Near zero visibility with strong winds in excess of 50
mph.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.
IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.
* Locations impacted include...
Sunset and Picacho.
This includes Highway 380 and 70 between Mile Markers 288 and 325.
Instructions
Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.
