JeffCoALert is a free service provided by the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency that allows citizens to sign up and receive notifications about emergencies and severe weather. This service also allows emergency response agencies to send out accurate and up-to-date information about incidents that significantly impact Jefferson County residents.

These emergency alerts could be related to specific hazards that require action, such as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flooding, shelter-in-place, boil water, etc. Non-emergency alerts could include significant transportation problems with prolonged impacts or significant ongoing police or fire activity. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive and demonstrates that this system will not be used for routine information.

In addition to receiving information on your wireless device, you may also sign up to receive notifications on a traditional landline phone. If possible, please provide your address and preferred method(s) of contact. Adding your address will provide you with geographically targeted alerts when an emergency impacts your specific location.

You can also choose to opt in to official notifications from your community regarding community activities/events.

These alerts are free, however standard text messaging rates and other charges may apply. Apart from this sign-up, you can also receive alerts through the MyAlerts App for Android and Apple devices.
