Wildwood Alerts

Sign up to receive urgent alerts, severe weather warnings, and/or timely notifications regarding other matters of importance.

The City of Wildwood is now able to send you alerts via text message, email, pager, or voice mail (in extreme cases), based on your preferences.

Urgent alerts could be related to specific hazards that require some kind of action to be taken such as boil water notices. Other types of alerts could include road closures and detours, police advisories, event delays or cancelations due to weather, and/or city news releases.

In addition to receiving information on your wireless device, you may also receive urgent notifications on your land telephone line (if you have one) depending on the type of incident or event.

Please provide your address and preferred method(s) of contact. Adding your address will allow location tailoring so you do not receive alerts that don’t pertain to your specific geographical area.

These alerts are provided free of charge, however standard text messaging rates and other charges may apply.

If you wish to subscribe to SMS text messages only, text WildwoodFL to 38276.  There is also a free mobile app available.

Wildwood’s system complements—but does not replace—the Alert Sumter Emergency Notification System, managed through Sumter County’s Department of Emergency Management. Sumter County serves as lead for local emergency management programs and services, including the county’s emergency operations center and emergency shelters.
