BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City sign and signal crews will complete modifications to convert the intersection of La Vista Boulevard and West Territorial Road to a four-way stop, from its current two-way stop configuration, today, Wednesday, April 8.
The following specific modifications will be completed at the intersection of La Vista Boulevard and West Territorial Road, as part of this work:
- Modification of existing flashing beacon to be flashing red in all four directions
- Addition of new stop signs for West Territorial Road traffic
- Removal of "Cross Traffic Does Not Stop" signs for La Vista Boulevard traffic
Neighbors traveling in this area are reminded to be aware of crews and equipment, and to abide by any temporary traffic control measures in place during work hours.
Crews expect to begin this work to modify the intersection by 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, and expect to be completed by noon.
These modifications at the intersection of La Vista Boulevard and West Territorial Road are necessary, due to the intersection's crash history meeting the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requirements for conversion to a four-way stop.

Seven reported angle crashes have occurred at the intersection of La Vista Boulevard and West Territorial Road from 2023-2025.
