Town Partners with Polimorphic to Offer AI-Powered Search Feature on Town Website

On September 5, the Town launched an artificial intelligence-powered (AI) search feature on the Town’s website as part of a partnership with Polimorphic.  Website visitors can now ask specific questions in full sentences about Town departments and operations and receive instant written responses solely based on official content from the Town.  Previously, the only search feature available was keyword-based and search results presented users with relevant webpages for users to then review.  The Polimorphic AI search doesn’t replace the original search feature, but will be another option for the community as they navigate the Town’s website.

Integrating Polimorphic's AI search into the Town website is part of the Town’s commitment to adopting technologies that improve the community’s ability to access information 24/7.  For example, residents can find out which days garbage is picked up at their address, or new business owners can learn the initial steps needed to open a business in Town.  As an added benefit, Polimorphic also includes a list of Town sources it draws from in constructing its answer so users can conduct further research, if desired.

This partnership between the Town and Polimorphic provides the Town with an opportunity to take advantage of the burgeoning world of AI and develop a customized, government-focused AI solution.  The Town appreciates the patience of the community as the Polimorphic solution is still in development.  The community should not rely solely on the responses provided by Polimorphic and should still contact Town departments as they see fit, especially for complex questions such as those related to planning, zoning, building or ordinance matters.
Polimorphic is a provider of AI workflow and Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) solutions for local governments.  Parth Shah, CEO of Polimorphic, states, "Our mission is to simplify governmental processes and enhance residents' quality of life.  Implementing the AI search feature makes information more accessible to everyone, contributing to a more inclusive and connected community."

For more information or with any questions, please contact the Town Manager’s Office by email or by calling (561) 838-5410.  The community is also encouraged to report incorrect answers or information by emailing the Town Manager’s Office to help continuously improve the AI search feature.
