FAA Comment Period, Proposed Amendment 3, Potential Traffic Impacts, and Reminders
Make Your Voice Heard: With less than one week remaining to submit public comments to the FAA on the proposed permanent flight restrictions, residents and interested members of the public are encouraged to review the proposal and submit a specific, fact-based comment describing how current or proposed flight patterns may affect their home, neighborhood, business, or community. Comments must be submitted by October 2, 2026: Federal Register - Make A Public Comment. Proposed Property Tax Webpage & Property Tax Calculator:
The Town has created an educational webpage to help residents understand the proposed 2026 Amendment 3, which would change Florida’s property tax system, including the homestead exemption and assessment limits for certain properties. The webpage provides an overview of the proposed changes, information about how they could affect property owners, and links to official resources and a property-specific calculator. The Amendment 3 calculator is now available on the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s website.
Potential Traffic Impacts: Scheduled work for multiple Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects, Town-wide undergrounding, and watermain work, including milling and paving, may affect your travel route. Please follow the posted signs and directions, proceed carefully, and allow for extra time in the affected areas. Access to homes will always be maintained. South County Road Sidewalks: Sidewalk work on South County Road between Brazilian Avenue and Royal Palm Way
Start/Stop Garbage & Recycling Pickup: If you are returning to town after an extended period of time away, please complete the Start/Stop Garbage & Recycling Pickup Form to resume waste collection services.
Report a Missed Waste Collection: If your residence was not serviced during a scheduled waste collection, please complete the Missed Waste Collection Form to notify us.
Car Carrier Reminder: Commercial loading and unloading, such as vehicle deliveries, are permitted between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Designated loading zones have a 30-minute limit and must be actively used for loading or unloading with a commercially marked vehicle. Fire Hydrant and Water Valve Maintenance: The West Palm Beach Public Utilities Department continues to conduct fire hydrant and water valve maintenance through October 21 to ensure safe, efficient water system operation and support high-quality drinking water. Some customers may experience temporary sediment or discoloration, which can be cleared by running cold water for 1-2 minutes. Questions can be directed to 561-822-2210.
New Billing System and Temporary Change to Alarm and Solid Waste Billing Schedule: The Town is transitioning to a new financial and billing software system that will improve how the Town manages customer accounts, billing, and payments. As part of this transition, alarm and solid waste bills normally mailed on October 1, 2026, will instead be mailed on November 15, 2026. Visit the website for more information.
Seeking Boards and Commission Applicants: The Town of Palm Beach is seeking residents interested in volunteering their time and expertise to serve on Town boards and commissions. Board and commission members play an important role in advising the Town Council and supporting thoughtful decision-making on issues affecting the community. The Town is seeking applicants for the Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC), which advises the Town Council on municipal planning, zoning, and development matters. Applications must be submitted to the Town Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026, with appointments scheduled for consideration by the Town Council on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The Town is seeking applicants for the Architectural Commission (ARCOM), which reviews new construction, modifications to existing structures visible from public rights-of-way, and landscaping. Applications must be submitted to the Town Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2026, with the appointment scheduled for consideration by the Town Council on Monday, November 9, 2026.
