Training, Labor Day Closures, and Reminders
Fire Department Training Drill: Residents may see multiple fire units and personnel at the Mandel Recreation Center and in the Royal Palm parking lot (September 1-3, 2026). This is a scheduled training exercise, not an emergency or active incident.
Traffic Impacts: Paving work will take place in front of 228 Sea Spray Avenue from August 31 to September 4. The road will remain open to local traffic only during work. Labor Day Closures: Labor Day, observed on the first Monday in September, honors the contributions and achievements of American workers. The holiday recognizes the social and economic contributions of the labor movement and the workforce that helped build and strengthen our nation.

- In observance of the holiday, Town offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026. The following services and facilities will operate as noted:
- Public beaches: Lifeguards on duty, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
- Residential garbage and recycling: Service only for residences on Kawama Lane/Chateaux Drive north to East Inlet Drive. No other residential areas will receive garbage service.
- Yard trash: No service on Monday. Stash areas will be serviced during residential collection from Tuesday, September 8, to Friday, September 11.
- Commercial garbage and recycling: No interruption.
- Construction and landscaping: Not permitted.
- Emergency services: Call 911 for emergencies. Call 561-838-5454 for non-emergencies.
- Parking: Rules remain unchanged.
- Residential garbage and recycling services will only be provided to residences on Kawama Lane/Chateaux Drive, north to East Inlet Drive. No other residential areas of the island will be serviced for garbage on Monday, September 7, 2026.

- New Town Website: The redesigned website launched on August 28. Improvement work will continue without interruption to service or access.
