Potential Traffic Impacts and Reminders: Week of July 6, 2026
Annual Chlorine Flush Reminder: The City of West Palm Beach Water Utilities will be conducting the annual chlorine flush from July 7 through July 28, 2026. Customers who use a home dialysis machine, have tropical fish tanks, or have fish and shellfish holding tanks should seek professional advice to safely remove chlorine from city water, as the method for removing chlorine differs from that for removing chloramine. - Milling and Paving will take place on the roads listed below, weather permitting. Dates may change based on conditions. Expect temporary traffic disruptions and limited access. Florida Power and Light’s contractor will install street lighting conduit during this time.
- July 6 – July 10: Northbound and southbound traffic on North County Road is detoured via Crescent Drive at Wells. Only local traffic can access North County Road at El Mirasol and Canterbury Lane.
- July 6 – 8: The 300 block of Worth Avenue will be milled and paved as nightwork between the hours of 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
- July 9 – 10: Hibiscus Avenue from Peruvian Avenue to Royal Palm Way will be closed.
- Cocoanut Row Watermain: (July 6 – 10, 2026) The installation of a new watermain along Cocoanut Row between Royal Poinciana Way and Pendleton will require a southbound lane closure, with a flagging operation in place to maintain traffic flow throughout the duration of the project.
- FDOT project SR A1A/South County Road Midtown Paving: Beginning Monday night, July 6th, nightly paving operations are expected to begin on S.R. A1A/S. County Road, from just south of Golfview Road/Hammon Avenue to S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way, 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings in July. Please note that nightly lane closures and access to parking spaces will be required at various times to complete operations. Safety Reminders
- Vehicles: The Palm Beach Police Department advises residents to lock vehicle doors, not to leave keys inside, and to remove valuables such as cash, wallets, purses, phones, and tablets before leaving their cars to deter theft.
- Beware of Impersonators: The Palm Beach Police Department warns residents and visitors about individuals falsely claiming to represent the Town. These impostors may ask for personal or financial information or cash. Town employees always carry official ID and wear uniforms with Palm Beach insignia. Remember:
- Legitimate Town staff never ask for credit card info, banking details, or cash during normal interactions.
- Always request to see official Town identification if approached.
