Potential Traffic Impacts and Calendar Reminders

The Town appreciates your understanding as we carry out upgrades that will deliver lasting improvements to our community. We recognize that summer construction may be inconvenient and thank you for your patience while our teams work diligently during these months. Access to homes and businesses will always be maintained; flaggers and signage will be in place to assist you.
 

Potential Traffic Impacts: Milling and Paving 

Milling and paving operations are scheduled below; However, rain may impact operations, and the dates provided are a guide and may change depending on conditions. Temporary traffic disruptions and limited access in certain areas are expected as the work continues.
  • June 22 – July 13: North County Road’s northbound and southbound lanes on North County Road will be detoured to North Lake Way at Dunbar Road and Kawama Lane. Only local traffic is allowed. 
  • June 22 - June 26: 100, 200, and 300 blocks of Australian, Chilean, and Peruvian Avenues between South Ocean Boulevard and Cocoanut Row.
  • June 25 - June 26: Seaview Tennis Center parking lot off Royal Palm Way will be closed to be repaved.

Potential Traffic Impacts: Cocoanut Row Watermain

The installation of a new watermain along Cocoanut Row between Royal Poinciana Way and Pendleton will require a southbound lane closure, with a flagging operation in place to maintain traffic flow throughout the duration of the project. During the week of June 29 - July 3, the contractor will demobilize, and the roadwall will return to two-way traffic.
 

Potential Traffic Impacts: Undergrounding

Phase 7 South:

  • Tuesday, June 23, 2026: Work is anticipated from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. The northbound lane of Bradley Place between Everglade Avenue and Atlantic Avenue will be closed. The southbound lane will be open, but northbound traffic will have to use North County Road. North County Road at the Dunbar intersection will remain open.
  • Wednesday, June 24, 2026: Work is anticipated from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. The northbound lane of North County Road between Everglade Avenue and Atlantic Avenue will be closed to set a concrete pole with a crane. The southbound lane will be open, but northbound traffic will have to use North Ocean and Bradley Place. 
  • Traffic Maintained: Northlake Way between Wells Road and Sanford Road, and Wells Road, east between North County Road and North Ocean Road.

Phase 8: Lane closures, local traffic only, and traffic maintained on the following:  

  • Sunset Avenue between Bradley Place and North County Road
  • Sunrise Avenue between Bradle Place and North County Road
  • Bradley Place between Sunset Avenue and Everglade Avenue
  • Sunset Avenue from west of Bradley Place to North County Road

Potential Traffic Impacts on June 20: Sanitary Sewer Force Main Maintenance

Maintenance will be performed on the sanitary sewer force main at 1045 South Ocean Boulevard on Saturday, June 20, 2026. To accommodate this work, maintenance of traffic (MOT) measures will be in place from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. South Ocean Boulevard will be reduced to one lane of travel in the work area, and flagging personnel will be on-site to direct motorists safely through the zone. Each phase of the work is expected to take approximately one hour to complete. Motorists should expect brief delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time when traveling through the area. Potential Traffic Impacts: FDOT projects 

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from S.R. 802/Lake Avenue to Ibis Way

Traffic Impacts: Change in Traffic Pattern for the new Pedestrian Signal at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course: The new pedestrian signal at the entrance/crosswalk for the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course, just south of Old S. Ocean Boulevard, is currently flashing yellow to notify of the upcoming change in traffic pattern. When the signal is fully activated later this month, the push button will turn the signal from yellow to red to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross S.R. A1A/S. Ocean Boulevard. Please drive safely and proceed with caution as this new traffic pattern is implemented in the coming weeks. S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from Emerald Beach Way to S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way

Traffic Impacts: One lane of S.R. A1A/S. County Road may be closed for construction from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday through Summer 2026. Work includes concrete, medians, and mast arm installation. Sidewalk closures and detours are in place; follow signs and use caution.
Advanced notice—S.R. A1A/S. County Road Northbound Lane Closures and Detour at Peruvian Avenue Expected in July 2026: Drainage installation is expected to begin in July on S.R. A1A/S. County Road at Peruvian Avenue. Northbound lanes on S.R. A1A/S. County Road may be closed around-the-clock as needed for construction operations between Peruvian Avenue and Chilean Avenue. During these closures, motorists traveling northbound on S.R. A1A/S. County Road will be detoured eastbound on Peruvian Avenue, northbound on South Ocean Boulevard, and westbound on Chilean Avenue to access northbound S.R. A1A/S. County Road. Additional details including the start date will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The Palm Beach County Department of Airports (DOA) is conducting a Master Plan Update for the Palm Beach County Park (Lantana) Airport. Upcoming Water System Notice: Annual Chlorine Flush

The City of West Palm Beach will be conducting its annual chlorine flush at the water plant from Monday, July 6, through Monday, July 27, 2026. The city will temporarily switch its water disinfectant from chloramines to free chlorine as part of routine water system maintenance. This notice is being provided as a courtesy to customers who may need to make adjustments to their treatment processes during this period. FAA Flight Restrictions Update:

The Town, City of West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach County filed the Joint Petitioners' Brief on June 9, 2026.
 

Safety Reminders

Vehicles: The Palm Beach Police Department advises residents to lock vehicle doors, not to leave keys inside, and to remove valuables such as cash, wallets, purses, phones, and tablets before leaving their cars to deter theft.

Beware of Impersonators: The Palm Beach Police Department warns residents and visitors about individuals falsely claiming to represent the Town. These impostors may ask for personal or financial information or cash. Town employees always carry official ID and wear uniforms with Palm Beach insignia. Remember:
  • Legitimate Town staff never ask for credit card info, banking details, or cash during normal interactions.
  • Always request to see official Town identification if approached.
