Potential Traffic Impacts November 8 - 14, 2025
The Town of Palm Beach advises residents and motorists of potential traffic impacts during scheduled work from November 8 to 14, 2025. Please follow signage and directions, proceed cautiously, and allow extra travel time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation. Access to residents’ homes will always be maintained. Please follow the directions of the United States Secret Service (USSS) and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) personnel in the area.
South Ocean Boulevard (SR A1A) will be closed between South County Road and Southern Boulevard (SR 80) beginning Friday, November 7, at 5:00 a.m. The road closure will stay in effect until further notice. Procedures regarding road closures, checkpoints, adjusted bridge opening schedules, and temporary marine security zones can be found on the Town's Planned Traffic Impacts webpage, under the Mandated South Ocean Boulevard Road Closures dropdown.
The Town advises residents and motorists of recent roadway changes in the Bath and Tennis Circle area. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has modified the traffic pattern, including updated yield designations and roadway markings within the circle. Drivers are urged to use caution and remain attentive to the new signage and yield designations while traveling through this area.
FDOT and the United States Secret Service (USSS) have installed temporary traffic signals at the Bath and Tennis Circle. These signals will assist the USSS with pedestrian and vehicular traffic crossing Southern Boulevard to access the Mar-a-Lago property from the Bath and Tennis parking lot.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from S.R. 802/Lake Avenue to Ibis Way
Description: This 2.074-mile project began Saturday, May 3, 2025. Improvements include milling and repaving the roadway, widening 2-feet to 5-feet in both directions to accommodate 5-foot designated bicycle lanes in each direction, upgrading pedestrian signals with new LED countdowns at the intersection of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard and S.R. 802/Lake Avenue, installing a new traffic signal mast arm at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course and a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at Phipps Ocean Park, retrofitting and installing new decorative lighting at the intersection of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard and S.R. 802/Lake Avenue, the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course, and Phipps Ocean Park, upgrading curb ramps and replacing sections of the existing sidewalk, including replacing the asphalt sidewalk with concrete along the west side of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard, regrading swales for enhanced drainage capacity, and upgrading signage and pavement markings, including installing green bicycle markings at the intersection of S.R. Description: This 2.3-mile project began on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Improvements include milling and repaving the roadway throughout the project limits, replacing traffic signals with decorative mast arms at Golfview Road/Hammon Avenue, Worth Avenue, and Peruvian Avenue, and with standard mast arms at the Town of Palm Beach Fire Station, and S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way, upgrading pedestrian signals with new LED countdowns at Golfview Road/Hammon Avenue, Worth Avenue, Peruvian Avenue, and S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way, installing drainage improvements just south of S.R.-80/Southern Boulevard, just north of El Vedado Road, and at S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way, upgrading roadway lighting throughout the project limits including decorative lighting at Worth Avenue, Peruvian Avenue, Chilean Avenue, Australian Avenue, and Brazilian Avenue, upgrading curb ramps and replacing sections of the existing sidewalk, and upgrading signage and pavement markings, including shared bicycle marking or “sharrows.” For more information, please contact Community Outreach Specialist Meredith Cruz at (561) 589-9584 or mcruz@cruz-pr.com.

- West Palm Beach’s Green Market will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., with additional road impact times possible, and will occur each Saturday through May 30, 2025. Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach will be closed in this area.
- Australian Avenue’s electrical poles will be removed. Possible delays may occur. The Town parking lot will be closed.
- The Chase Bank parking lot will be closed for electrical pole removal.

- One lane of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard may be closed with a flagging operation to direct traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Fall 2025, for minor roadway widening and pedestrian pathway operations.
- One lane of S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard, within 800 feet of S.R. 802/Lake Avenue, may be closed with a flagging operation to direct traffic from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, through Fall 2025.
- One westbound lane of Lake Avenue, just west of the S.R. A1A intersection may be closed as needed, 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Fall 2025.
- A temporary pedestrian detour route will be utilized throughout the work zone as needed; please follow directional signage and proceed with caution.

- Final paving and striping operations with a flagging operation can be expected on S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from just north of the S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard traffic circle (by Mar-a-Lago) to S.R. A1A/South County Road (just north of Clarendon Avenue), daily, 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and nightly, 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., Sunday night through Friday, as needed through late November 2025. Please proceed with caution and allow extra travel time as needed.
- New Traffic Pattern at Traffic Circle by Mar-a-Lago: New asphalt pavement has been placed on S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from just north of Emerald Beach Way to South County Road, which includes the traffic circle at the intersection of S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard. The new striping meets the current traffic standards, as follows:
- Vehicles approaching the traffic circle are directed to yield
- Vehicles within the traffic circle always have the Right-of-Way
- Paving and striping operations with a flagging operation can be expected on S.R. A1A/South County Road from South Ocean Boulevard (just north of Clarendon Avenue) to north of Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road, 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, through late November 2025. Please proceed with caution and allow extra travel time as needed. Please note that only one lane of S.R. A1A/South County Road may be closed at a time.
- S.R. A1A/South County Road northbound lane closure from Banyan Road to Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road: The northbound lane and sidewalk on S.R. A1A/South County Road, from just north of Banyan Road to just south of Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road, may be closed around-the-clock for sidewalk replacement and construction activities through late November 2025. Please note only one lane of S.R. A1A/South County Road may be closed at a time.
- The southbound lane of South County Road and all side streets will remain open with eastbound and westbound movements permitted on Jungle Road, El Vedado Road, El Brillo Way, El Bravo Way, Via Marina, and Gulfstream Road for local traffic. A flagging operation may be utilized to direct traffic on side streets as needed.
- Local traffic traveling northbound on S.R. A1A/South County Road will be detoured via eastbound Banyan Road, north on S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard, and west on Hammon Avenue to access northbound S.R. A1A/South County Road.
- Sidewalk and pedestrian access will not be available from the intersection of S.R. A1A/South County Road just north of Banyan Road to Hammon Avenue/Golfview Road during this time.
- Southbound S.R. A1A/South County Road and all side streets will remain open within the work zone.
