Midtown Beach Reopens Following Improvement in Surf Conditions

The Town of Palm Beach has reopened Midtown Beach after surf conditions and beach erosion concerns have significantly improved. The area is now safe for public access, and all beach activities may resume.

Over the past couple days, the Town temporarily closed Midtown Beach due to unsafe surf and erosion caused by large swells, strong offshore winds, and high tides associated with Tropical Storm Jerry and a nearby coastal low-pressure system. Town staff have continued to monitor surf conditions and the extent of beach erosion.

With the High Surf Advisory lifted and conditions returning to seasonal norms, officials have determined that it is now safe to reopen the beach.

The Town appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the temporary closure and reminds all beachgoers to continue exercising caution when swimming, especially when surf conditions are elevated or lifeguards are not present.
