The Town of Palm Beach is preparing to temporarily close Midtown Beach due to unsafe surf conditions and significant beach erosion. The closure is in effect until further notice.

Large swells and strong offshore winds are impacting Florida’s East Coast this weekend due to Tropical Storm Jerry and a developing coastal low-pressure system producing high surf, dangerous rip currents, and ongoing dune erosion.
Possible conditions include:
  • Wave heights of 8–10 feet in the surf zone
  • High Surf Advisory is expected through early Sunday
  • High risk of rip currents expected to continue through the weekend
  • Instances of significant beach erosion during high tides
Town officials urge residents and visitors to avoid the beach and stay out of the water until the area is deemed safe for public access and announced.
