FIRST HALF 2026-27 VILLAGE PROPERTY TAX REMINDER

The first half of 2026-2027 Village property taxes is due without penalty by Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Tax bills have been mailed, and tax amounts may also be viewed on the Village website.

Taxes may be paid on-line, mailed or paid in person at the office of the Village Clerk-Treasurer in Village Hall, 85 Main Street, Irvington, NY 10533 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. excepting Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.  There is also a drop off box in the vestibule of Village Hall.

Effective December 24, 2025, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has made a change in procedure that affects the timing of “machine” postmarks. The change is that machine postmarks will reflect the date mail is first processed at a regional facility, NOT when dropped in a local mailbox. This change in procedure has the impact of potentially causing delays for time-sensitive mail, like tax payments. If you are close to the deadline and making a payment by mail, go to the post office counter and request a hand stamped postmark.

There is no charge for e-check payments deducted directly from your bank account. Credit card and debit card payments will be assessed a fee. For all on-line payments, please go to:  https://www.irvingtonny.gov/605/Online-Bill-Payment

Please note that all first half amounts paid after June 30, 2026 will be subject to interest as set forth in New York State Real Property Tax Law Section 1432.  A 5% penalty will be assessed for the month following the due date and 1% per month thereafter.  Bear in mind only a bona fide U.S.P.S. postmark evidences timeliness.

New York State law provides that a municipality cannot wave penalties on real estate taxes received after the due date for any reason. Therefore, if you do not receive your bill by the first week of June, please contact us as soon as possible.

If you have any questions please contact Katie Bugna, Clerk/Treasurer, at kbugna@irvingtonny.gov or at (914) 591-7070.
