Join Us at a Village Facilities Community Workshop on Thursday @ 6:30

As a reminder, the Village invites all community members to participate in an upcoming “Sites and Scenarios Exploration” Community Workshop on Thursday. Note that the location of the event has been changed. The event will be held in the Main Street School Gym.

This workshop is an opportunity for residents, local business owners, and community stakeholders to share their perspectives and help inform this important stage of the Village's strategic planning efforts. These efforts are focused on addressing increasingly outdated and undersized facilities, including those serving the Fire Department, Police Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Another key component under consideration is the potential relocation of the Department of Public Works facility currently located on S. Astor Street near the Irvington train station.

Event Details:
Date: Thursday, April 30
Time: 6:30 – 8:00 PM (program begins promptly at 6:30 PM)
Location: Main Street School Gym

About the Workshop:

Facilitated by professional consultants from Beyer Blinder Belle, this interactive session will bring together community members, local businesses, and Village representatives to explore potential sites, including existing locations, for future Village facilities. Participants will review siting options, evaluate different scenarios, and provide direct input to help shape Irvington’s Facilities Plan.

All are encouraged to attend and contribute to this important community conversation. While not required, RSVPs are appreciated to assist with planning:

For those interested in additional background or who may have missed earlier events, please visit the Irvington Facilities Planning Page here. The “Virtual Open House” provides a helpful overview of the process to date.

Following the rejection of the 2023 capital bond proposal, the Village initiated this strategic planning effort under new leadership with a focus on transparency and broad stakeholder engagement. The process is exploring a range of options to address facility needs, including approaches that do not rely solely on current taxpayers.

We hope you will join us and be part of shaping Irvington’s future.
